We believe that all travelers should have the freedom to be who they are, wherever they are. That’s why we commit a portion of our brand budget each year to support charities and causes that support and advance equality for the LGBTQIA+ community.

Through our Freedom to Be giving program, we’re committed to supporting vital community organizations, foundations and charitable partners, which include the likes of Trans Lifeline, IGLTA Foundation, Stonewall Community Foundation, and Black Trans Travel Fund.

Trans Lifeline

Trans Lifeline is a trans-led organization that connects trans people to the support, community, and resources they need to survive and thrive.

Orbitz supported Trans Lifeline through its Refer a Friend program in Fall 2020.

IGLTA Foundation

With a focus on leadership, education, and research, the IGLTA Foundation shares information and supports initiatives that create welcoming experiences for LGBTQ+ travelers. IGLTAF also mentors LGBTQ+ small business owners and young professionals through its Fellowship Program, giving priority to those from destinations/communities where LGBTQ+ people face added challenges due to laws, culture, or lack of support.

Orbitz raised $50,000 for the IGLTA Foundation as part of our Giving Tuesday campaign in 2020

Stonewall Community Foundation

This NYC-based foundation invests in organizations, projects, and leaders that strengthen and improve the LGBTQ movement and community.

As part of our partnership with Instagram influencer The Travelin’ Bum, we donated $10,000 to Stonewall Community Foundation in February 2021.

Black Trans Travel Fund

The Black Trans Travel Fund is a grassroots, Black trans-led collective, providing Black transgender women with financial and material resources needed to remove barriers to self-determining and accessing safer travel options.

In honor of Black History Month, we donated to the Black Trans Travel Fund.
