How old do you have to be to rent a car with Avis?


Each country or state has its own rules, but you can expect to be unable to rent a car unless you’re 21. If you’re under 25, you will normally pay a surcharge.

In most locations, those aged under 25 probably won’t be allowed to rent certain vehicles, such as vans or luxury sports cars.

In some countries (but not the US) you might be unable to rent or be asked to pay a surcharge if you are over a certain age.


Which cars can you rent from Avis?
